And it gives the Steam OS plenty of room to work in. Also the more free space you have on an SSD, the longer lifespan it will tend to have. And since it can be a bit of a pain for most people to open things like the Steam Deck, the longer that lasts the better. Last edited by zenstrata ; Jan 4 @ 11:17pm. #8.
Unless you are specifically going to be recording video in 4K then the SanDisk Ultra is a better choice. At $26 for the 128GB version it is the cheaper option, and while not being as fast as the

And done. You donβt need the best. Standard UHS-I is more then ample. you won't see any difference, you'll get like 5-15mb/s out of them anyway, advertised speeds are sequential on empty nand and dram so they look impressive. if anything more times you stack nand layers the worse performance you'll get in theory.
Depends on your definition of average; you'll need Sandisk Extreme Pro levels of performance to better than a HDD in random reads. Sandisk Ultra-types will need some luck (some lottery there), and anything less is as slow or slower. The newer eMMCs are pretty fast though, I assume it's going to be 5.1 spec, since that's been out for some time.

The SanDisk Extreme Portable is an external SSD that I use to transfer my Steam library between PCs. The 2TB model I use has a list price of $460, but it usually sells for less than that
